Vehicle Running Costs
The AA
of Kenya regularly publishes a schedule of Vehicle Running
Costs as a uniform guide to policy makers in Government
and business, and to the motoring public. They are based
on 11 main elements of fixed and operating costs, in convention
with worldwide conventions and the calculations are based
on 38 different vehicle classes. Each element follows detailed
pricing research, and a consistent formula for averaging
is applied.
To
this extent the process is highly scientific and very accurate.
But of course the figures are averages; they are benchmarks,
and on some elements are theoretical. The final figures may
therefore differ, sometimes substantially, from any individual
user’s actual costs.
What
they give you is a template in which to insert your actual
costs, and a benchmark against which to compare your performance-
where you are loosing, where you are gaining, and by how much?
The
complete booklet of all classes and additional information
is available from the AA of Kenya.
