Make
Roads Safe
Death
on our roads has continued to grow at alarming rates.
In partnership with the local and international bodies
the AA of Kenya has remained at the fore-front against
this vice. In Kenya alone, about 1000 accident cases
were reported in the year 2006. Out of these, a total
of 14000 were fatal while 1400 were hospitailes.
In
December 2005 the AA of Kenya initiated the Think
before you drive campaign. The campaign was sponsored
by the FIA and the Tyre makers.
To
sensitise the public on road safety issues, numerous
road safety campaigns were carried in many parts of
the country. These included conducting of seminars to
the Kenyan motorists including public service vehicle
drivers (matatu crews) and school-going population (the
future motorist). Leaflets on proper road usage literature
and tools such as pressure gauges were given out during
these campains
The AA of Kenya regularly conducts defensive driving
seminars and the Lady motorists auto clinics.
During these seminars, the attendants are taught on
ways to curb the road death menace and the new and emerging
techniques.
