'Carnet de Passage en Douane'
is an international customs document covers the temporary admission of
motor vehicles in foreign countries. The carnet is valid for 12 months
from the date of issue and allows crossing of upto
25 borders. The document eliminates the hassle of lodging your original
logbook at the point of entry and some times the requirement to the
leave a cash deposit with customs officials.
The requirements for the
carnet are:
- R ecent valuation
report of the vehicle.
- A Bank/Insurance Guarantee whose amount
will be determined by the value of the vehicle
This document is
used to identify your motor vehicle in all the different countries that
you travel across. The CPD is derived from
the French and means ‘notebook’. It consists of import and export
vouchers that are retained by the customs authorities of the countries
visited.
The Carnet is valid
for 12 months from the date of issue and it enables visitors to
temporarily import their vehicles for a limited period of time with a
minimum of formalities and without resulting to the normal time-
consuming documentation routines across the various countries.

APPLICATION FOR INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE
PERMIT
A permit is only issued to person of 18 years and over
who holds a Valid Kenyan Driving license (not a provisional driving
license). Evidence of current Driving License must be produced(original)
and supported by original Identification Card and Passport.Each
applicant should complete and sign this application and provide two
passport size photographs, the names written on the back.
