NAIROBI / MOMBASA VIA MTITO ANDEI

Passable (Great North Rd)

JKIA, Mulolongo, KMC and Daystar University junction still under construction. After Machakos junction towards Salama, there are two major diversions and requires careful driving. The rest of the road up to Mombasa is passable. Drivers to exercise care because of wild animals displaced by drought.

ELDORET- WEBUYE A10A

Passable, Maili Tisa, Turbo, webuye, Kanduyi road has many potholes, drivers to drive with care.

BUNGOMA – MALABA

Passable, road from Kanduyi all through to Malaba border is in bad condition. Heavy trucks have damaged the road making it very dangerous for small cars therefore careful driving is required.

NAIROBI – NAMANGA

The road is passable. After Kitengela there is one major diversion towards Kajiado as constructions are still going on. Kajiado – Namanga is not in good condition. Requires careful driving as Maasai herdsmen keep criss-crossing the road in search of grazing areas.

NAIROBI – NAROK B3

Passable, 30 Kms from Mai Mahiu under construction and requires careful driving because of dust. Construction on Suswa – Narok is complete and the road is good. Drivers to be careful of pastrolists communities moving with their animals along the road.

NAIROBI – MAGADI

Tarmac & Narrow (private road) but open to public

Passable

Passable with potholes between Kiserian and Magadi,requires careful driving

THIKA – NYERI/NANYUKI
VIA MURANGA

Passable, but there is a major construction along Thika road between Pangani and Kasarani in view of transforming Thika road to a super highway, there are heavy machineries on the road and requires careful driving.

Eldoret Moi’s Bridge has many potholes, requires careful driving. Moi’s Bridge Kitale – Road is good. Kitale- Kapenguria- Lodwar – road is in bad state, has many potholes and banditry activities; drive only during the day and in convoys.

Drivers to contact the nearest police post for security and escort. Road is cut off by heavy rain during rain season

Road between Subuiga – Isiolo under major construction with diversions. Requires careful driving because of dust.

ISIOLO, GARBATULLA-MODOGASHE-HABASWEIN

Passable by 4x4 vehicles

Passable but you have to get information on at Isiolo barrier on security situation from the police officers manning the barrier before you travel.

MALINDI - LAMU

100Kms from Malindi is Tarmac.50 Kms from Minjira to Lamu is Murram
